Kaito Choy: designing footwear by night

Kaito Choy is the fourth designer launching his concept through WAU and he named it COMMA. He has the mission of connecting people via functional progressive products that tell meaningful stories.

Kaito Choy is a 27 years old full time Industrial Designer by day and Footwear Designer by night. Born in Hong Kong and raised in southside Chicago since the age of 10, he started designing when he was around 12 years old.

This year, he is the second place winner of PENSOLE World Sneaker Championship. His work can be found at kaitochoy.

WAU opens the pre-order for the 3rd colorway of the COMMA.

This CW came along with a minor detail change, taking minimalism to an extreme, reflecting the designer’s influence and vision.

The braided laces of the OG colorways were substituted by premium waxed cotton laces, allowing a smoother lacing and unlacing.

This new colorway, ASH, features premium charcoal textured suede upper paired with tonal natural rubber outsole inspired by the rich texture and depth of ash. The premium waxed cotton laces come in light grey, for a touch of contrast.
