The WAU community is getting stronger. Starting today, ‘Sneaker Steve’ Patiño is our new Ambassador, for believing in this project as a huge push into the aspiring designers’ career.
‘Sneaker Steve’ has more than 20 years of industry experience. So why connecting to a new project like WAU? Because when he started his career, he would like to have had someone bolster him up. That believed in him and his designs and that would have helped him launch his styles to the market.
Actually, Patiño is the CEO and Founder of Ales Grey a luxury brand with purpose. He is also the Chief Fashion Officer and Director of Special Projects at Wanderset, Faze Clan. Patiño is currently the host of his podcast video series Kickin’ it with Sneaker Steve at snkrINC and Fuel TV internationally. He has also held roles as the senior footwear consultant at Five Four Group.
Steve Patiño is a sneaker and fashion expert and 20-year fashion industry veteran. He’s been President and partner of luxury footwear brand Android Homme and worked as Global Director of Special Projects and lifestyle for DC Shoes. During Steve’s tenure at DC shoes, the company sold over a Billion dollars in sales. Patiño also spent five years living in China to understand every detail of the footwear manufacturing process.
Throughout his career the biggest celebrities in music, film and sports have worn his products: Jay Z, Kanye West, Nas, Justin Bieber, Kendrick Lamar, J Balvin to Lebron James, Russell Westbrook and Lewis Hamilton. Patiño’s products have sold in the best retailers in the world: Harvey Nichols, Selfridges, Barneys, Colette, Isetan, Kith and Dover Street Market. Even astronaut Buzz Aldrin has worn his NASA collaboration sneakers, which are now featured in multiple museums globally.
Patiño’s a graduate of NYU and Vassar College. He lives currently in LA with his wife and son.
